The key advantages of the transition to a fixed day weekly service include:
• Significant improvement in schedule reliability and On Time Performance (OTP) to save our customers time;
• Operational efficiencies by reducing waiting time for a berth and mitigating vessel clashes as fixed window vessels will benefit from priority berthing.
• A Stepped improvement in feeder connectivity allowing for better alignment of schedules and cargo connections with weekly feeders.
• Market leading
• Customers benefiting from more efficient stock management and lower inventory holding costs
Structure :
• Service route structure could be consistent across all sailings for improvement to weekly ports of: Port Klang, Singapore, Motukea and Lae.
• Service would then alternate calls Northbound to give fortnightly coverage to: Honiara, Lae (NB call)
• Improved coverage of Rabaul and Madang on Northbound voyages on a 21/28 day frequency.
• Improved Honiara coverage on a 14,14,21 day frequency.
